Key Features:
- Provides excellent warmth: Products made from this type of yarn can be worn in winter and slightly warmer autumn days. This is due to the structure of the fibers, which, lightly connected, allow the skin to breathe, while storing air and generating warmth.
- Incredibly soft and pleasant to the touch: The down produced by cashmere goats is very gentle on our skin. Wearing it is pure pleasure.
- Does not absorb odors and is resistant to stains: It may sound impossible, but cashmere has special properties that make it almost self-cleaning.
- Has hygroscopic properties: Cashmere absorbs moisture from the environment and quickly releases it to the outside. What does this mean for us as users? It's not waterproof, but the fact that it doesn't absorb water means that a sweater made from this material dries fairly quickly. So, if you encounter light rain on an autumn walk, you can be sure you won't get completely soaked.
To maintain the extraordinary delicacy of cashmere, follow our care tips:
- Dry cleaning wool is not recommended all the time, but you can dry clean cashmere - it's important to use a reputable dry cleaner with experience in cashmere cleaning.
- How often should you wash cashmere sweaters? If you wear it all day, you should wash the sweater approximately every 3-5 wears. In between, you can refresh it by exposing it to cool, humid air, for example, by leaving it overnight on a cool balcony.
- Hand washing cashmere is the best way to care for your product. The water temperature should be between 20°C and 25°C (warm water). For one sweater, use 4-5 liters of water. Washing cashmere in too little water can damage the product. Add a gentle wool or cashmere liquid detergent to warm water, then place the sweater in the water for five minutes until it is soaked. Gently squeeze the cashmere in soapy water. Do not twist or rub cashmere during hand washing. Squeeze the cashmere gently without wringing it out. Rinse thoroughly but gently with clean lukewarm water. Lay the garment flat in its natural shape on a thick, moisture-absorbing towel or on a drying rack to protect the cashmere from wrinkling and to maintain its shape and elasticity.
- How to dry cashmere? Lay it flat, preferably on a soft pad made of a thick, moisture-absorbing towel.
- Can you iron cashmere? Do not iron cashmere - you can gently steam it to remove wrinkles without touching the surface.
Pilling of wool and cashmere is a natural process due to the specific chemistry of natural fibers. Pilling usually occurs in areas prone to friction. Since cashmere is very fluffy, it's easy to get rid of the pilling balls using a special wool comb or a fabric shaver. If knots appear on a cashmere sweater, you should trim it with a fabric shaver and wash it, repeating the entire procedure – wear, trim, wash – until the cashmere surface becomes smooth.
